Willie is an interdisciplinary arts leader, educator, and entrepreneur with a knowledge base and skill set that includes non-profit management, arts management and administration, development, marketing and communications, project and program management, event planning, creative practice, design thinking, arts integration, and emerging arts practices.
Willie is the recipient of the Beckman Research Award in Arts Entrepreneurship by the Society of Arts Entrepreneurship Educators for developing the Foundational Areas of Arts Management, a multi-tier framework which connects artistry, foundational areas of arts management, and entrepreneurship and innovation for artists, entrepreneurs, and non-profit organizations. He was named as an Emerging Creative by the Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities (a2ru) and awarded multiple teaching commendations by the Associated Student Government and Center for Teaching Excellence at Miami University of Ohio.
Willie Holds an MFA in Arts Leadership from Virginia Tech with graduate certificates in higher education administration and future professoriate. He is also a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a BM in Music Business and Management and the American Music and Dramatic Academy with conservatory training in theatre and performance.
Willie currently serves as co-chair for the Greater Cincinnati Alliance for Arts Education and sits on the education committee of PAR-Projects Northside. In his spare time, Willie regularly engages with arts and culture events in the greater Cincinnati region and volunteers as a theatre reviewer for the League of Cincinnati Theaters.
